Old and new cookery books make their way into our hungry hands. They are gems, and offer hours upon hours of pleasurable reading (and eating). Being sociological expeditions, mirrors to our lives, representative of our tastes and habits, they are revealing not just of the writers of them, but also of us - human beings, like most, who require to survive not just food, but stories.
